into the darkness…

In the end, i oft wonder (dare i say hope) that when i die i am sent to another plane of existence. A place where the righteous battle the damned in a struggle that has lasted so long that no one knows way the fight. Yet they fight on in a war where no side is right but both sides are wrong.

In this new land, i will bow to no one and fight under my own flag. There will be others like me and together, we will band together. As we travel across this land, those we encounter will be killed if they force us to bend to their ways. For what is worse, a fallen angel…or a demon with a conscience?

Time and again, we will come to expect death. Time and again…we will escape it. And when the sweet embrace finally takes us, pulling us into a warmth that would make anyone want to sleep forever, we are sent to the next plane. And we learn something…

…you never truly live…until you die.

Brutalism. it’s not just for Architects anymore!

i know i know its been awhile since my last post. for that i apologize.

so ive decided to create my own ideology. i call it Brutalism. i landed on this name for two reasons:

1)the architectural concept of Brutalism relies heavily on the use on concrete. a parallel can be drawn to my ideals as being concrete as well as non-wavering, forever.
2)the various parts of my ideology i carry out with a “brutal” finality. (the term “brutal,” as defined by Merriam-Webster, is to be “unpleasantly accurate and incisive.”)

as for by beliefs with this ideology, there are some that are more common sense and there are some that are more of a personal preference. I attempt to live my life everyday with an unbridled sense of optimism. those who know me best know that i am brutally honest (helped to influence my name choice). I also see the world as black and white…with the details being in the grey area. if you think about it, at the basic level, everything is black and white. everything is simple. this allows me to have an unquestioning moral certainty. I also keep my emotions in check, not letting things like anger, frustration, stress, or jealousy take control of me.

as far as my religious facet of Brutalism, i define myself as a militant apathetic agnostic.
-militant: i cant prove a higher power, and neither can you.
-apathetic: if one does exist, however, he clearly is not concerned with us.
-agnostic: but i do concede that a higher power may very well exist.

To summize: to be a “Brutalist,” one must be honest, optimistic, moral, happy go lucky, and agnostic (or at least religiously open-minded).

ive been doing a Brutalist for years. you should try it sometime.

What if god was one of us…then became a god?

I have often wondered if this “god” fellow is really a human from another world. And in this world, society has progressed hundred of trillions of years and has allowed its people to evolve the powers to make a small universe and, in effect, become our god.

think about it.

Nightmare Scenario. Will you be a Survivor or a Statistic?

As much as people dont want to admit it, i think deep down everyone is hoping for a nightmare scenario to break them from this never-ending loop of the mundane that we call life. The way i see it is there are 4 possible scenarios, each with there own subset of outcomes.

1)”Zombies”
I think that a quote unquote zombie attack is possible a la “28 Days Later,” “I Am Legend,” and “Resident Evil” where some virus is created and infects the living…thus zombiefying them. I think an actual attack of the undead coming back to life is unreasonable.

This would lead to a massive breakdown in governments worldwide as they would not be able to efficiently contain both the zombies and panicked citizens. This would result in scattered fortified outposts and well as pockets of survivors. Now its time to suit and go on a killing spree until you can find the military.

2)Aliens
“Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying” -Arthur C. Clarke.

Assuming we arent, and they come, and they are angry…it could play out like “Independence Day” or “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” Either way, major cities would be destroyed leaving (again) scattered military units and scattered pockets of survivors. However this time, its about hiding and evading instead of killing.

3)We are all in the Matrix.
simply put…id think it’d be fun if this was true. ive always wanted to stop bullets…and not with my body

4)Nuclear War
Probably the most likely scenario. In this event, major cities would be wiped off the map, countries would vanish, millions would be killed instantly, and millions more would die from the fallout. This would lead to a life not unlike “Fallout 3.” I wouldnt mind that at all. Military resistance, attempts at new world orders, and pockets of survivors as well as pockets of bandits. makes for a fun time had by all.

BONUS! something else that cant be qualified above, such as “Children of Men” where women can no longer get pregnant or “Terminator” where the future continues to send back people and alter everything.

**We must also acknowledge the possibility of being hit by a celestial body or by the ravaging effects of accelerated global warming. in both scenarios, the entire world is affected and i dont believe much would change in the way of ordered governmental structure. i could be wrong.**

All i know is when the shit hits the fan, im going to be locked, cocked, and ready to go. the sooner the better.

Im Agnostic (and you are too!)

What you are about to read is very VERY important…it could very well mean the end of all the horrific and nightmarish acts and atrocities people commit toward each other “in the name of religion!” As it turns out…we are all Agnostic! Isn’t that wonderful news! Now that we are all the same, we have no need to rape and kill each other for being different!

Now I know that this transition is going to take time, that it won’t be accomplished overnight. But it is a very simple conversion to make. All you have to do is understand why you dismiss all other religions as false, then you will understand why yours is dismissed for the same reason. Then the understanding that we all “believe” will be realized and you will recognize that its not who or what you believe, but that belief exists.

The Book of Mike

Ages ago, in a time before mankind was even a glimmer of a shadow of a thought upon the immaculate fabric of the cosmos, there was only One. He looked upon the perfect order of the universe and was discontent, vowing to craft the greatest of all stories in the virgin darkness. His was an amazing power, one too great for any mortal mind to comprehend. With His left hand, He plucked a twinkling of amusement from His Own Eye, casting the glimmering jewel outward. With His Great Hammer, He shattered this Source of All Light, spreading the fragments through the Universe and arranging them to His own delight. With His right hand The One scribed the laws that would govern the Universe, simple limericks of gravity, electromagnetism, and matter, the foundations of all that Man would discover and name Science. One planet in particular He was proud of, crafting it with both His Mighty Hands, and His touch was quickly felt. Wherever The Great and Powerful One laid His Hand, life sprang forth, growing and evolving, borrowing from him the tiniest fragment of the Great Flame of Life which burned within Him, indeed, which comprised Him. And He did choose the mightiest of these lifeforms, communicating to them in the thought-language of Gods the path toward civilization and enlightenment. And so, Man did flourish across this great planet, filling its lands and leaving its mark upon the landscape. And then The One looked upon the great Chaos that He had wrought upon the once-immaculate cosmos, and He did smile, for it was His Chaos, and it pleased him. On a Whim, The One decided at that moment that forever will he walk among the Great Flock of His Creation, reborn time and again as one of them for as long as the Human Flock endures. And so His current form resides, taking the name Mike as His own, and the Flock is enriched by His Mighty Presence, even filtered as it is by the crude matter He dons to walk among them.

The Book of Mike 3:17-84

Gravity vs Intelligent Falling. Round 1.

in 1687 Sir Isaac Newton was hit in the head with an apple. Now I’m sure he wasn’t the first person in history to be under an apple tree and have one fall and hit his head. I’m also fairly certain that people have been hit in the head by oranges, coconuts, pears, and bananas…yet it was an apple that sparked the idea in Newtons head about gravity. But what if Newton wasn’t the first to have the revelation, but just the first to publicize it? Perhaps Jesus was sitting under an apple tree, minding his own business, having a good time when an apple fell on HIS head. What if he looked at said apple and the thoughts of gravity started to flow through his mind?

But then he choose a different path…he said to himself  “self, someday…somewhere…someone will be hit with an apple again, and they will know what I know. But right now I have a greater opportunity.” And then Jesus decided to write a book, the single greatest work of fiction ever written. And in this book, the apple fell because someone wanted it to…and then all of mankind fell with it.

Open Your Eyes

Recently I asked several friends a question and was intrigued by the spectrum of answers. So now I ask you.

The Question: If this entire world we knew was a dream inside of another dream…where 1 second there is 1 million years here…and you became lucid and realized that these dreams were your own, would you want to wake up?

–M–

ps. I would definitely wake up. I would not be able to handle the thought of not knowing. How often do you get a chance to go backward through the looking glass?

Hell…The New Heaven

Some time ago it occurred to me that Hell, at the very least in the Christian faith, is more likely a paradise then a quote unquote Hell. Let us analyze my thought process for a moment.

Christianity teaches us that there was a great war in Heaven with Michael leading the angles and Lucifer leading the renegades. Ultimately, Lucifer fell and “was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him” Rev. 12:7-9.

Enter: Hell. So we got Satan down here in Hell with his army of fallen angels (commonly referred to as demons) and God up in Heaven with all the unfallen angels. Now at this point I highly doubt that God and Satan are friends anymore, let alone on speaking terms. Now, Christianity tells us that the Devil is down there, luring man away from God with his lies and deception and that he is trying to build an army so that one day he may wage another Great War.

But wait a minute…I thought hell was were bad people went to burn for their sins and be tortured for all of time? That seems to be inline with how God would run Hell…as if it were some sort of prison. But I highly doubt that Satan would run Hell in accordance with the way God would want it to be run.  I would think Satan would make Hell a joyous place for the fallen, so that they would happily serve in his army, do his bidding, and help overthrow the righteous.

Stop me if I’m wrong, but either Christianity has been sending mixed signals about who REALLY runs “down there” or Hell is starting to look a lot like Vegas. And I love Vegas.
