I blame the Greeks
Last week, I reported god’s anger toward us for pushing a gay/environmental/equality agenda. But I was wrong. It wasnt him, I gave him too much credit. looking down on Earth from Mt. Olympus, one thing is abundantly clear: Zeus is pissed. Aside from being the King of Gods, he is also the god of weather, the god of law and order, law and order: SVU, and the god of fate.
Working chiefly with Poseidon (god of the sea, rivers, floods, droughts, and earthquakes), these two have wreaked havoc across America. An earthquake on the east coast, devastating floods from Hurricane Irene, and historic flooding along the Mississippi River.
And now, Hephaestus (god of fire), is getting in on the fun by spreading more and more wildfires. Half the country is burning, the other half is being washed away!!
We’ve also learned that the USPS is “operating on a week’s worth of cash” according to the Postmaster General and could face shutdowns. Clearly the work of Hermes, the god of messengers, language, and writing.
And it also seems that Hera, queen of marriage, women, and childbirth, has defected to the Tea Party to help them put a stop to reproductive rights in dozens of states.
Last, but not least, who could forget Hades? King of the underworld, god of the dead, and leader of the tea party. His strangle hold seems to be iron-clad. He could not be reached for comment.
Current reports suggest that several of the other gods, primarily Aphrodite (goddess of love and beauty), Apollo (god of music, healing, and poetry), Ares (god of manly courage and civil order), and Athena (goddess of wisdom, heroic endeavor, and reason) are in hiding, strategizing on a way to overthrow these dark times. this could not be confirmed independently, however.
But being that these gods are Greek, and that the current state of Greece is, well…its pretty bad, there is one thing we can do: kick these gods to the curb and start hanging out with the Norse God’s. After all, Germany does have its shit together!! See you at Oktoberfest with Loki, Thor, and Odin!

The Ties That Bind Us.
“But, as you well know, appearances can be deceiving, which brings me back to the reason why we’re here. We’re not here because we’re free. We’re here because we’re not free. There is no escaping reason; no denying purpose. Because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist. It is purpose that created us. Purpose that connects us. Purpose that pulls us. That guides us. That drives us. It is purpose that defines us. Purpose that binds us.”
-Agent Smith
This is an amazing quote, and if you think about it…it’s quote true. But as true as it may be, it is not perpetual…it is fleeting. But there another tie that binds. Something equally as important. Some even believe they are one in the same. And this tie binds every human being, every black, white, asian, every hispanic, every man and every woman. Every animal, every dog, cat, fox, toad, and squirrel. Every creature in every area of the world; every fish, every whale, every crab, tuna, and swordfish. Every monkey in the jungle, every snake, jaguar, and crocodile. Every amoeba, blood cell, protozoa, electron, and every atom. It also binds us to everything we’ve ever made: Every computer, every tv, xbox, elevator, and every phone. Every car, truck, boat, plane, train and motorcycle. It binds everything we believe…every religion, every belief, every book. It binds everything we know…every ocean, every mountain top, river, glacier, cloud, and every forest. It even binds is to things we would never imagine. To every planet, every star, every galaxy. Every supernova, nebula, and black hole.
Every person that lives, has ever lived, or ever will, is bound by this.
Everything we know, have known, or ever know is bound by this.
Everything we create, have created, or will create is bound by this.
Everything. And what is this bind…?
Death.

Im just a misguided ghost…travelling endlessly…
for those that know me, you are aware of my sharp and biting sarcasm that i carry with me at all times. im never at a loss for words and can always make people laugh. sometimes, people are the victims so that others may laugh but i always turn my attention on those very others so everyone gets a turn.
for those that REALLY know me, they know that beyond this, im the rock when terrible things happen. the shoulder to cry on. the ear that listens. the person to vent to. and within that, i use my humor to make those closest to me laugh and smile. to ease their tears and alleviate their stress. and i do it gladly.
but i feel nothing.
i dont have those stresses, those fears and pains. i experience them right along side my friends and family, but i dont feel it that way they do. all i feel is humor. all i do is laugh and make those around me laugh…even at my own expense.
Pablo Neruda, a Chilean poet, once said “laughter is the language of the soul.” i hold to the belief that this is true. if it isnt, then i believe that i have no soul. if left me along time ago, and laughter is all i have left.
i have the ability to make anyone laugh in any situation, no matter how grave. is that really that bad?

Words never hurt anyone…except the weak.
sticks and stones may break my bones…but words will never hurt me? yea…i think most people didnt get that memo. Its amazing to see how overly offended people get due to the words of others. also very amusing is that there are many people out there who can give it all day but get all upset when someone gives back.
does it help? seriously…when someone points out that you are a stupid fuck or a whore does it help to cry like a weepy little bitch? does it magically make it better? it doesnt?!? well golly-g-willickers!!! you should keep getting upset over the dumb shit that people say!! the best is when i see it happen between strangers or people who arent the closest of friends, acquaintances if you will. surprising how much people care about the opinion of people they will never see again.
so let us remember, even if you are a slut, jew, trash, ugly, selfish, faggot, retard…if a friend calls you that: get new friends. if a non-friend says it: who cares?
grow up you pussy.

Brutalism. it’s not just for Architects anymore!
i know i know its been awhile since my last post. for that i apologize.
so ive decided to create my own ideology. i call it Brutalism. i landed on this name for two reasons:
1)the architectural concept of Brutalism relies heavily on the use on concrete. a parallel can be drawn to my ideals as being concrete as well as non-wavering, forever.
2)the various parts of my ideology i carry out with a “brutal” finality. (the term “brutal,” as defined by Merriam-Webster, is to be “unpleasantly accurate and incisive.”)
as for by beliefs with this ideology, there are some that are more common sense and there are some that are more of a personal preference. I attempt to live my life everyday with an unbridled sense of optimism. those who know me best know that i am brutally honest (helped to influence my name choice). I also see the world as black and white…with the details being in the grey area. if you think about it, at the basic level, everything is black and white. everything is simple. this allows me to have an unquestioning moral certainty. I also keep my emotions in check, not letting things like anger, frustration, stress, or jealousy take control of me.
as far as my religious facet of Brutalism, i define myself as a militant apathetic agnostic.
-militant: i cant prove a higher power, and neither can you.
-apathetic: if one does exist, however, he clearly is not concerned with us.
-agnostic: but i do concede that a higher power may very well exist.
To summize: to be a “Brutalist,” one must be honest, optimistic, moral, happy go lucky, and agnostic (or at least religiously open-minded).
ive been doing a Brutalist for years. you should try it sometime.

Pascal’s Wager vs. Gallo’s Counter
Pascal’s Wager is simple and elegant, very to the point. simply put “that even though the existence of God cannot be determined through reason, a person should wager as though God exists, because living life accordingly has everything to gain, and nothing to lose.”
Now this is where Gallo’s Counter comes in. Those of you who know me know that i walk with a cocksure arrogance and maintain an overwhelming amount of self-confidence. i personally believe that i can take on any situation. this situation is no different. i intend to live my life as i see fit, and if in the end there actually is a god…then i will ask for forgiveness and he will grant it to me. how do i know this? it says so in the this bible that everyone talks so much about.
“We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done… We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us.” Romans 3:22,25

The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I–
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
-Robert Frost
This is my favorite poem. I first learned this poem in school when I was very young and it really struck a cord with me. Still today I try to follow it, to take the road less traveled by. My personal belief is that doing this will allow you to experience things one would otherwise never experience. Now this is no guarantee, but isnt it worth trying?

A response I received from a reader.
“The Road Not Taken is by far THE best poem I have ever read with the most meaning. Its always good to read it again and remind myself that although we are conformists in nature sometimes you need to stray off the paved road and make your own path to see what could happen. I wouldn’t worry about the path that everyone else chooses because they can just tell you where it leads and what happens. Id rather risk it and see where the path less traveled leads me.”

The Book of Mike
Ages ago, in a time before mankind was even a glimmer of a shadow of a thought upon the immaculate fabric of the cosmos, there was only One. He looked upon the perfect order of the universe and was discontent, vowing to craft the greatest of all stories in the virgin darkness. His was an amazing power, one too great for any mortal mind to comprehend. With His left hand, He plucked a twinkling of amusement from His Own Eye, casting the glimmering jewel outward. With His Great Hammer, He shattered this Source of All Light, spreading the fragments through the Universe and arranging them to His own delight. With His right hand The One scribed the laws that would govern the Universe, simple limericks of gravity, electromagnetism, and matter, the foundations of all that Man would discover and name Science. One planet in particular He was proud of, crafting it with both His Mighty Hands, and His touch was quickly felt. Wherever The Great and Powerful One laid His Hand, life sprang forth, growing and evolving, borrowing from him the tiniest fragment of the Great Flame of Life which burned within Him, indeed, which comprised Him. And He did choose the mightiest of these lifeforms, communicating to them in the thought-language of Gods the path toward civilization and enlightenment. And so, Man did flourish across this great planet, filling its lands and leaving its mark upon the landscape. And then The One looked upon the great Chaos that He had wrought upon the once-immaculate cosmos, and He did smile, for it was His Chaos, and it pleased him. On a Whim, The One decided at that moment that forever will he walk among the Great Flock of His Creation, reborn time and again as one of them for as long as the Human Flock endures. And so His current form resides, taking the name Mike as His own, and the Flock is enriched by His Mighty Presence, even filtered as it is by the crude matter He dons to walk among them.
